Lake Country Triathlon History

The Lake Country Triathlon, formerly Town and Country YMCA Triathlon is back.  The event started back in 1983 and frequently sold out.  The race would start at the old beach house and swim to Chuck's Super Club.  Racers would cover 15 miles on the bike and a 3.1 mile run finishing at the old Town & Country YMCA.

Starting in 1993 the event was moved to Ottawa Park. At some point that race either stopped or became another event.  We are unclear of the history after leaving Silver Lake.

Things have certainly changed.  The beach house is gone, Chuck's in now Burke's Lakeside, The Town and Country YMCA has moved and become the Pabst Farms YMCA and Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC is proud to bring the race back to Silver Lake.

Why did such a popular event end?  We are not sure and prefer not to speculate but rumor has it the event was so popular that when the swim portion took place it created a Coriolis effect causing the fish to become discombobulated.  We are not sure about that but if you have any old photos, you raced the event or have first hand knowledge we want to hear from you!

SOLD OUT!  Wow what a great race.  As soon as we went to permit the event the DOT informed us they were closing the only two north / south roads in the Village for bridge repair. UG.  That caused us to start all over and in need of a site.   That site is now City Beach in Oconomowoc on Lake Labelle.

2016
SOLD OUT again making transition a little tight. Thanks to mother nature it was also a giant slip and slide.  City Beach was great and we are please to bring it back in 2017 with an even larger transition area.

2017
Wow we have expanded transition to accommodate more people more comfortably. In fact, we doubled the transition area.
